Pacifier vs Fingers

YA has been "salvaging" his fingers so much lately till "chut chut chut" very loud!

We offered pacifier to him but he doesn't seem to be interested, would still suckle but when it dropped, he self-service with his fingers again! argh..

I remembered Dr Tan ever mentioned it's better for them to suckle pacifier rather than their fingers as it's easier to wean them off from pacifier than fingers. And of coz all the hygiene prob, nails & fingers growth prob.. I hope this is only temporary and he will grow to like his pacifier more..

Vaccinations

The boys had vaccinations today.

ZQ:
- weighed 12.3kg and 91cm in height in his 21mth + old
- 2 jabs: Hep A 2nd dose and Japanese Encephalitis

YA:
- weighed 6.35kg and 62cm in height in his 2mth old
- 2 jabs: 5-in-1 1st dose and Pneumococcal 1st dose

PD did quite a physical checkup on them to assess their growth and development, glad to hear that all is well. Just that YA's cradle head problem has been persist for quite some time so PD prescribed a medicine for it. His hair is growing out too fast, so the cradle cap prob must be cured immediately if not it will be difficult to be treated with the bushy hair ard.

And the total cost of this PD visit + vaccines = RMB 5000!
Reason for this exp is because the medicines are imported from HK coz i don't want locally-manufactured vaccines. And they verified the vaccine with me, showing me the whole packaging and the details on the manufacturing. And also this is an Expat hospital so it explained the shocking pricing.

Really glad that it's all covered by hubby's co.'s insurance and we didn't have to fork out a single cent. ZQ's vaccines were all done. YA's next appointment is one-month time for Rotavirus. Poor boy, he still has a long way to go...

Flash cards

I was flashing some Animal flashcards to the boys today. Have been doing this a few days with Yan An and he seems very interested, looked at the cards with excitement and made lots of cooing sounds.

When i walked out the room to get something else, i heard Zq said "Dog, cat...". And i saw that he was flashing the cards to Yan An! But his speed was much slower and pronunciation was not that clear. But im thankful enough of him to help out! Good Job my dear! :)

Swimming

Hmm... Cant remember when was his last swim, i think probably 10 months ago and that was loooong ago. No wonder this little boy behaved like this today.

He was like a koala bear, hooked on to Papa and didn't want to let go. Only until he saw a big floating ball ball then he willing to let go Papa and played the water.

Eton Beginnings

Zq attended a playgroup trial class called Eton Beginnings at Eton School, meant for 18-36mth toddlers. It is conducted according to Montessori concept and the environment is good. Class is very spacious and there was only 3 toddlers. The teacher Tia is a very observant and caring teacher, she observed how I communicate with Zq and guided me along for more positive and efficient way of communication and grooming. He enjoyed himself very much especially the dance and water play, he loves to play with sponge. And as usual, he dislike art and craft… I think I will sign up this for him this.
