Dear's Birthday Cake + Photo Shoot + Debra's Baby

We woke up early this morning as we were expecting someone... Shirley, she is a freelance photograhper and she would do a photo shoot for our little family. Ziqian was rather grouchy throughout the whole session, hope the photos will turn out nice...

It's Dear's birthday today and da-dang! This is the Mango Mousse Chocolate Sponge Cake i especially prepare for him... Coz he loves mango so much! :)

Dear praised that me for baking a delicious cake.. (Hmm, does he imply that the Chocolate Truffle Cake & Oreo Cheesecake that i baked for him the past two years not nice at all?.. Hmm) Anyway, the cake is too delicious that we fight for it!!! Haa...

After which, we went to Orchard to shop around and i bought this lovely Baby Journal... Hope it's still not too late to note down every little special moments of Ziqian... I shall get Dear, my parents and my sisters to pen down some of their thoughts and wishes too and give this Journal to him when he turn 21 year old... :)

And we received a call from my MIL around 5pm, she told us that Debra had finally delivered her baby girl! (Poor thing, her labour was long, close to 24 hours)... We visited her at East Shore Hospital and glad to see that both mummy and baby doing well.. Her little girl weighed 2.9kg and 53cm (tall and slender just like mummy! :p) Looking at her newborn, now then i realise how fast Ziqian had grown, he had grown to be a chubby boy and someone who has a strong personality!

We really share lots of coincidence in our family... My SIL and me have the same birthdate and now Dear and our niece have the same birthdate!

Hanbok

Xiao yi got this lovely hanbok for Ziqian from Korea, and she got a korean girl costume for Tong Tong as well! It is too big for him at the moment, i believe he will be able to wear it on Xiao yi's wedding (maybe 1 or 2 years time?) :) Then both Tong Tong and him will be a pair of super kawaii 花童！

His little water tap

Bibs are sometimes redundant. I very look forward to the day that his little water tap being turned off totally. Meanwhile, i still need to clean all the water traces he left behind diligently.

Does he look like girl?

Quite a handful of people mistaken Ziqian as a baby girl. Even my sister-in-law said that sometimes he looks like a girl. Does he really look like girl? Or is it because he resemble me so much that explain a "girl" look of him? Dear insists that baby looks very boyish and he often get annoyed when people commented baby looks like girl.. haa :p

This greedy little piglet did not satisfy after 5 teaspoons of rice cereal and he actually protested and shouted when i told him no more... :p This explains why no more photos of him crying coz the photographer cum videographer cum daddy was busy pacify this greedy piggie.. :)

"Leapfrog - Jump"

Contemplating for long, we finally got him a Fisher-Price Jumperoo! Initially it was either a Jumperoo or Leapfrog Groove & Learn Activity Station, BUT BUT BUT... we got him BOTH! Coz he was smiling so sweetly to us when we put him in the toys... Well, we got a 2nd hand leapfrog activity station for him, since it's still in very good condition, not burning a big hole in our pocket too.. haa!







Look at his smiley face, he never fail to melt my heart... :)

Bought him Ikea feeding high chair today. He was laughing and screaming away when we put him in... It is cheap and good! Only $33. Easily clean and wipe, pretty sturdy and the colour blend in well wi our dining table too.. haa!

I made it!

I always envied those mummies who have the courage to bring babies out themselves and i wiSh to do so as well, but i was too timid and contemplating for long... worried about baby being cranky, worried about taking public transport, worried about the unpredictable weather, worried about baby's milk time might be disturbed and my "worried" list went on and on... Finally, today is a great chance for me to bring Ziqian out alone for his 3rd round of vaccinations. And with the newly bought Bjorn Active, the more i wana bring him out in it to make my purchase worth! Hubby kept asking me "are you sure you want to bring him to clinic yourself?" I have never been so firm before: YES!

So after his morning milk feed, we set off to the clinic which took us about 20mins of bus ride. Ziqian was so fascinated and curious throughout the bus ride, he kept looking left and right, turned his head to those passengers who talked loudly... I kept mumbling at his ears, telling him "this is a bus and we are going to clinic".
Indeed, carrier does attract more attention than a pram. People will look and smile at baby and commented so cute. So i have more "work" to do, gonna smile back politely more often than usual...

At the clinic, we waited for about 30mins before our turn. Ziqian was tired and dozed off soundly in his carrier. Poor thing, he will have the painful jabs after his sweet dreams :(

Ziqian was 8.1kg and 70cm long in his 5th month. Well progress. We decided not to have Rotavirus oral vaccine today as this little poor boy hasn't fully recover from his cough yet. The 2 jabs on his thighs are already a trauma for him, i really hope he can take it well and no fever after which. He is a brave boy, he didn't cry for both the 2 injections, though he wanted to withdraw his leg when Doc applied the alcohol the second time. Pacifier is redundant here. Ziqian, mummy so proud of you!

And yes, we back home sound and safe :) I'm somewhat proud of myself, it is a great achievement for a timid mummy like me... Both hubby and my mum are also proud of me... This really boost my confidence to venture out further with baby!

Happy 5 month old!

He's so "delicious" that i cant help but kissss and hugsss everyday (sometimes bitessss also :p) Ziqian, mama LOVE you!

Bjorn Active & Baby Chloe

It has been a busy dating week for Ziqian and busy shopping week for me :p Here's another innocent pretty mei mei - Chloe... Despite her snow white complexion and forever smiley face, Ziqian still choose to act "dao". Haa!

Jovin's Wedding

Ziqian was invited and attended his 1st wedding dinner @ Novotel Clarke Quay. I believed he was the youngest baby there as he was not even "promote" to a highchair, his "seat" was still his pram! haa... Now i understand the chores and inconvenient to bring baby to a wedding dinner:

1) Firstly, we couldn't have a peace of mind to enjoy the food, coz we have to take turn to carry him. He wanted to join in for the dinner as he protested to be seated in his pram...

2) Then we have to bring him out of the ballroom during the march-in because of the loud music and the dim lighting...

3) Finally, we have to monitor his timing for milk feed and find a decent place to feed him...

But overall, we still enjoyed the wedding dinner... And Jovin, the bride looked so gorgeous that night... She and her hubby met at NUS as well, just like me and Dear... Wish them a forever blissful marriage! *-*
