Papa's 33rd Birthday!

And we decided to make some cookies for papa!

Mama said put some black sesame on the cookies i made so will not mix up with her nice nice ones.. :p


Zq was so happy when i told him we gonna bake some cookies for papa for birthday present when he woke up from nap. He was so eager to try out the different cookies cutters and made a real mess of it, so i have to "salvage" his cookies to refine into proper shapes :p

Other than the cookies, i think the best birthday present that Zq give to papa is his 1st poo in the toilet bowl! Haa

Eating the forever awful cake from Awfully Chocolate, enjoying the constantly repeat-telecast of birthday song singing from Zq, surrounded by 3 gorgeous lovely men... The night is simply blissful..

Happy Birthday Dear.. You have been the greatest papa in my eyes.. Thanks for everything... I know im fortunate to have you and i couldn't ask for more. Muacks! *o*

Watering plant... or floor?

Look at how he watered the plants. And yet he still looked so serious.

Time for gardening! Well, not really so :p

I always wanted to teach Zq what's life about, be it plants, animals or human beings. So let's start with a super mini one at the moment.

He was so thrilled over this when i told him we shall plant something after your milk milk. He finished his drink fast and kept telling me “ 妈妈，我要种菜“. Haa, so here we go!

He soaked the cotton buds with water, and when it comes to spreading the green beans on top of the cotton bud, he's not that patient to do it and wanted to pour all the green beans at once.. However, after some encouragements and reasonings with him, we completed this together.

But! We got a problem here as An An is constantly "aiming" this new addition to the window bay. I hope he will not "disturb" this little plant as Zq and me look forward to witness it turning into beansprout! :)

Zq's 1st off-diaper pee pee!

He made it! Papa brought him to washroom just before his nap time for pee pee. We started his toilet-trainings seriously about a week back and this is his 1st pee that "shoot" into the toilet bowl! We are so happy! :)

Bought a dozen of training pants with lovely designs and i really hope he can be toilet-trained very soon. His teacher has been updating on his progress daily, and she told me that Zq is very fascinated about the toilets, but he didn't express his urge to the teachers and just pee & poo in the training pants, and after he wet his pants, he will just keep mum about it and didn't notify the teachers. I think it would have take a longer while for him to be fully toilet-trained. This toilet-train thing seems very challenging for me. Comparing to weaning off pacifier & self sleep, he achieved these 2 excellently!

Well, nothing to be so proud of as this boy is coming to 2.5 year old soon. But im so delighted that he finally made it. Keep it up my boy! I reckon he still needs lots of practice and exercising self-control over this, but i believe it's a major step for us as he finally experience the off-diaper peeing and "witness" it! Thinking of all the diapers savings make me even happier! Wahaha!

All by himself

Zq was helping me to hang dry the clothings. And he did this all by himself, from turning the shirt inside out, to hook on the hanger and "adjusted" the clothes to make sure it's not crumpled after he done. I think he did a fabulous job!

YA is 10 months old

My teddy bear is 10 months old! And this lousy mummy has been so lazy to write down his little milestones over the 10 months, I need to buck up! Must record all his little achievements constantly. That’s why there’s always a little guilt of me towards An An, times flies with 2 kids and I seems to take this easy boy for granted sometimes..

Ok, back to the topic. My teddy bear had advanced in his motor & verbal skills quite significantly:

- Has start to crawl when he was about 9 month old, but his crawling style is totally different from Zq’s. He “crawls” on butt! Clever boy right, so his knees will not get hurt or much friction because of the crawling. And he can crawls quite fast with this. I love to see him crawling around as the way he shifts his big round butt when crawling is just so cute! Haa.

- Able to pull himself up from sitting to standing position just a few days ago

- He is a mummy boy. He always call “mama mama” when he upset and want someone to cuddle & carry. He likes to kiss my cheeks and mouth sometimes without me requesting for it. And he never do this to hubby, he sure jealous over this :p

- Has 8 teeth (4 upper and 4 lower). This is fast and he loves to grind teeth! Argh!

- He likes to play wi Zq, always squeal in delights when the brothers play and when he see gor gor’s funny actions, but sometimes the laughter of the boys can turn into screaming and crying less than 30 seconds. It’s common that the boys get too affectionate and starts to get too close physically, gor gor may accidentally exert too much force on didi and didi may pinch or dig gor gor’s eyes & nose unintentionally. BOYS!

- I notice An An is a boy with deep thought. He likes to observe people and when he plays a toy he will turn it upside down, touch/ dig the very very small parts of it, shake the toy, bite the toy and sometimes combine 2 toys together. His attention span seems longer than Zq when he was young. Zq seldom played a toy more than 1 minute, he will just take and throw while An An can spend quite a long time “analyzing” one toy before he moves on. The boys have definitely different characteristics and it’s fun to observe this! I gonna write down my detailed observations of their differences :)

He is a very sweet & easy boy. He don’t fuss when we put him in carseat and take him out from carseat when he still asleep. And I think I can wean him off pacifier soon as sometimes he can do without it the whole day even when he’s having his nap/ sleeps.

An An, you are such a darling… Very soon you will turn 1 year old and starts to walk, becoming more independent, exert your own will & wishes in lots of things… Mama definitely miss your baby smell and how you cling onto me now everytime I carry you.. Mama enjoys every moment with you my teddy bear.. I love you…

Toddler Food Battle Workshop

Attended this workshop conducted by a nutritionist from Singapore. It was a small group session with only 8 mummies. The workshop provides some insights for me to view this toddler feeding & eating issue in a new perspective. I am always very conscious about the boys' food intake, the amount of carbo, greens, sugar, salt, fruits etc daily. But the nutrionist shared with us to look at this whole dietary nutrients thing in a weekly basis rather than daily, and i realised through this, i can be more creative in preparing their meals! YEAH!

And what's more, Zq has been rather demanding recently in requesting the food he wants for lunch or dinner. He will insist to have THAT food to be served on the table if he requested it earlier on. And he always classify the noodles as: 面条，大面，大大面。。。Beat me! I'm clueless on this, normally cook him spaghetti, linguine, mee sua, buckwheat noodle, alphabet pasta, macaroni.. But im not sure which fall under what categories. Sometimes he get upset and told me "不是这个，是大大面！” No choice, i have to coax him to finish that bowl of noodle and promised to cook that 大大面 tomorrow (and trying my luck again!) :p

Well, I think the most important pointer that i learnt through this workshop is where to get reliable organic products and milk for my boys! And the benefit of eating organic is reinforced again, i guess i have to relook and plan for the boys meals for more organic stuff!
